POST 4: MUSICIAN

 

I'm the type of person who doesn't have a favorite style when it comes to music, so if I like a song, I'll listen to it regardless of genre. Within my list of songs you could find Latin music, jazz, classical, pop, ballads and even Asian music such as anime or kpop. I think one of my favorite styles of music is pop. And although pop is commonly associated with songs by American artists, my favorite pop musical group is a quintet of girls from Colombia.

At first the group was called "Disney princesses" by the media. Then the five members came up with a new and feminine name to identify them, and after many attempts, they were left with the name "Ventino".

They began by recording a video for YouTube in which they performed some songs from the Disney movies. I like them because their voices are soft and elegant. In their songs you can hear different musical instruments. They usually sing about the events of teenage life.

The group has been active since 2015, but I met them for the first time when they released their single “Me equivoqué” at the end of 2016. I enjoyed the melody, the rhythm and once in a while they surprise you with a powerful dance break. They are quite a surprise from the beginning in their career. They know how to interpret the pop genre incorporating some Latin elements in a harmonious and smooth way. They are fantastic.
